Does the leak need to be fixed before you repair the drywall?
Yes. We won't restore drywall over an active moisture source — the repair won't last and mold risk increases. Once the source is stopped and the area is dry, we'll assess what needs to come out and restore the surface completely.
Will painting over a water stain hold?
Paint alone doesn't seal water stains. Without stain-blocking primer applied over dry, stable drywall, the stain will bleed back through — sometimes within weeks. We use the right primer for the substrate before any finish coat goes on.
How do I know if my drywall needs to be replaced vs. just repaired?
